Used the hot water method on a cotton shirt and the color took evenly with zero patchiness, exactly what I wanted for a dip dye project. The bright pink stayed vivid after a cold wash, so it's clearly permanent like the label says.
The hot water method sounded like a chore, but the color came out so even and rich on my cotton tees that it honestly looked store-bought. I did two dip-dyed pillowcases and the bright pink held perfectly after a cold wash, no fading at all.
I was bracing for a splotchy mess when I re-dyed these faded pillowcases, but the hot water method gave me such even, rich color that they look brand new. The bright pink came out exactly as vivid as the bottle promised on my cotton fabric, and it didn't wash out in the first cycle.
